ANNA LOEWEN

Anna Loewen of Brandon, Man. passed away Aug. 7. She was born Dec. 9, 1905 in southern Russia. She accepted the Lord in 1923. In October, 1923 she married David Loewen. They immigrated to Canada in 1926. After a year in Saskatchewan, they moved to a farm at Foxwarren, Man. In 1940 they moved to Brookdale, Man. and in 1944 to Douglas, Man., where they farmed until retiring to Brandon in 1960. She was a member of Justice (Man.) MB Church since 1940, where they served as deacons for many years. She was a hospitable, loving person, loved to sing and play her harp, and was an avid quilter in her home and in the ladies' fellowship group. In the last few years her health failed. She is mourned by her husband; children Anne Kroeker of Minnedosa, Man., Henry of Carberry, Man., Dave of Winnipeg, Lydia Heinricks of Port Rowan, Ont., John of Douglas, Martha Penner, Helen and Mary Penner of Brandon, and Agnes Stobbe of Bossevain, Man.; 36 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was Aug. 10 in Richmond Park MB Church, Brandon, with Gerry Harms and Abe Froese ministering.
