FRANK F. LOEWEN

"The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1:21.

Our beloved husband and father, Frank F. Loewen, son of Franz and Katharina Loewen, was born on October 26, 1881, just north of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, where he grew to manhood and received his elementary education. Upon his profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, he was baptized at the age of nineteen and was received into membership of the Bergfelder (now the Gospel Mennonite) church by Elder Heinrich Quiring.

On April 28, 1907, he was united in holy matrimony to Katharina Wiebe, a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. A. A. Wiebe. For over 45 years they shared the joys and sorrows of married life. To this union were born four sons and nine daughters. Their home was on a farm a few miles west of Mountain Lake, where they lived for 42 years until they retired and moved to town in 1949.

In February 1921 he dedicated his life and family to the Lord. He had a vital concern in the spiritual welfare of the church and faithfully served as a trustee. He also served as a member of the Carson Township board, Bethel Hospital board, and the school board for many years.

He enjoyed good health throughout his life until a few years ago. Then he gradually started failing in health and became seriously ill in August 1951. He became bedfast in December and had been a patient sufferer for ten months. On June 3, 1952, at 7:07 a.m. the Lord relieved him of his sufferings and with a smile on his face he met his Saviour. Thus he attained the age of 70 years, seven months and seven days.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife and children, Abram F., Mathilda of Lincoln, Neb., Katie of Worthington, Albert W., Frank W. of Kingman, Kansas, Luella of Manila, Philippines, Clara (Mrs. Jacob F. Schultz), Edna (Mrs. Peter A. Dick) of Bingham Lake; Louise of India, Sarah, Elfrieda (Mrs. Harold J. Fast) of Windom, and Alfred of Seattle, Washington; three sons-in-law; four daughters-in-law, and twelve grandchildren. One infant daughter, one son-in-law, and one grandson preceded him in death. He also leaves two brothers, two half-brothers, two half-sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.

This separation will be keenly felt but we sorrow not as those who have no hope. We know we shall meet in glory. Christ's words in John 16:22 are our comfort. "And we now therefore have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you."— The bereaved family.
