• Bernhard F. Loewen, 43, a resident of Newton for the past seven years, died Monday morning at Bethel Deaconess Hospital after a long illness. Rev. Lynford Becker, pastor of the Koerner heights M. B. Church of which he was a member, will officiate at the funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday in the First Mennonite Church here. Mr. Loewen was employed at the Hesston Manufacturing Co. He is survived by his widow, the former Mathilda Woelk, two daughters and two sons, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Loewen of Goessel; two sisters and three brothers.
