MRS. ANNA C. LOEWEN

Mrs. Anna C. Loewen was born to Cornelius J. and Anna A. Friesen at Jansen, Neb. on Oct.17, 1905.

In her youth mother sought the Lord in repentance and faith receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. She was baptized upon confession of her faith in June of 1922 and became a member of the Kleingemeinde Church at Meade, Kan. She was accepted into the Emmanuel Mennonite Church on April 27, 1944. She was married to John E. Loewen on May 30, 1923, to which union were born two sons and two daughters.

After their marriage father and mother established their home an [sic] a farm southeast of Meade. The farm home was destroyed by fire in February of 1969. Following this disaster mother moved into the town of Meade where she resided til her death.

Mother was a hard worker and enjoyed good health until about eight years ago. We remember her courage, patience and trust in the Lord in the midst of much affliction, her joy in giving, her desire for spiritual realities, her deep concern to win others to Jesus Christ. She served as a Sunday school teacher, on the executive committee of the Ladies Sewing Society, and ministered in other areas as she was able.

In the later years of her life she contracted a rare blood disease. She sought help from specialists, and during these years of treatment received approximately 130 pints of blood. Her life was sustained through repeated miracles so that even the doctors were amazed. She slipped away into the presence of the Lord on Feb. 14, 1972, having reached the age of 66 years, three months, and 28 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Loewen, in April of 1966. She is survived by her children, Menno and wife Elsie, Martha and husband Dan Reimer, and David, all of Meade, and Lydia and husband Robert Gillett of Hutchinson, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Peter A. Classen, and one brother, P. J. Friesen, both of Dinuba, Calif.; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. C. M. Friesen, of Grant, Neb. — The Family.
