MRS. AGATHA LOEWEN
Mrs. Agatha (Classen) Loewen was born on Sept. 15, 1899, to Cornelius and Maria (Friesen) Classen at Jansen, Jefferson County, Nebr.
Together with her parents, she moved to Meade, Kan. in August of 1907.
Upon the confession of her faith in Jesus Christ, she was baptized on July 15, 1917, by Elder Jacob F. Isaac and was received into the Kleine Gemeinde Church of Mead.
On Feb. 9, 1919 she was united in marriage with Isaac W. Loewen. The Lord abundantly blessed the 46 years, five months and 14 days they shared together. To this union were born eight children.
In 1944, she together with her husband joined the Emmanuel Mennonite Church of Meade. During her years as a member here she gladly served her Master in various capacities as long as her health permitted.
During several years of failing health due to a malignancy she was hospitalized a number of times, enduring her illness without complaint. On July 9, 1965 she entered the hospital for treatment and observation. She suffered a heart attack on the morning of July 23 and after a few hours she quietly went Home to be with the Lord. Her days here on earth numbered 65 years, 10 months and eight days.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Ben, Daniel and Pete of Meade and Harold of Bloomington, Ind.; and four daughters, Helen (Mrs. Arnold Reimer) of Meade, Hulda (Mrs. Peter Classen) of Elkhart, Ind., Rosella (Mrs. Andrew Bartel) and Alvina (Mrs. Bernhard Bartel) of Meade.
Although her presence will be deeply missed by us, the testimony of her Christian character remains an inspiration in each of own lives. — The Family.
