One of our elderly members, Mrs. Katie Litwiller, age 88, went on to her reward May 21. She was the widow of our former bishop, Simon Litwiller who died about 16 years ago. They had served our church faithfully for many years. Mrs. Litwiller had been a patient at Hopedale Hospital for several months. Funeral services were held May 23 with Ivan Kauffman officiating. Surviving are three daughters, Esther, Freeda [sic Freda], and Rachel, and four sons, Lester of Carlock, Chauncy [sic Chancy] of Washington, Iowa, William of this area, and Allan of Roanoke, Ill.
