MRS. ELIZABETH LINSCHEID

Mrs. John H. (Elizabeth) Linscheid, a resident of the Arlington, Kansas community for 52 years and a member of the Mennonite church there, passed away at her home on Saturday, Feb.15, 1947, at the age of 81. She was born Feb. 12, 1866, in Neuhof, Austria.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. A. B. Schmidt, Tuscon [sic Tucson], Ariz., Mrs. C. C. Dailey of Manhattan, and Otile Linscheid, Wichita; eight sons, O. P. and Theo E. Linscheid, Arlington, E. J. Linscheid of Wichita, Dr. Leo Linscheid, 902 W. 17th, J. F. Linscheid, 902 W. 17th, A. A. Linscheid, Wichita, Dr. H. E. Linscheid, McPherson, and Elmer A. Linscheid, Inman; a brother, Edward Linscheid, Arlington; and 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Linscheid had led a long and useful life and was highly respected by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held on Feb. 15 at the home and the Arlington Mennonite church. Rev. P. P. Wedel was in charge of the service at the home and brought a message in German. Mrs. Ernest Linscheid sang "Zur Heimat da Droben." The service at the church was in charge of Rev. Ronald von Riesen of Newton. A male quartet consisting of P. R. Linscheid, John Kopper, Edward Ewy, and Lester Ewy sang three numbers.

Linscheid, Volume 7 (March 1998) on pages 16, 21, 52 and 55 documents this person as Katharina Linscheid, born in Strychowalec, Galicia, Austria, to Peter and Elisabeth Müller Linscheid, married Johann Linscheid (1858-1951) on 19 February 1882.
