Two Retired Farmers Called at Wayland, Ia.

Wayland Iowa. — Funeral services were held here July 17 for two retired farmers and long-time residents of this community.

Services were held in the forenoon at the Wayland Mennonite Church for Aaron C. Liechty, 69, who died at the hospital in Mt.Pleasant on July 14 after suffering a stroke. He had farmed here and in the Ainsworth community, was a former school board member and township assessor here, and was active in the Wayland church and Sunday school, including terms as church treasurer and deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Lovina, three children and two grandchildren.

Services for Edward C. Wyse, 81, were held in the afternoon at the Bethel Mennonite Church. He died at Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, on July 15.

A native of Henry County, he had lived on the same farm for the past 54 years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Katie Freyenberger, two brothers and two sisters, all of this community.
