He was married Jan. 3, 1915 to Emma Frey, who survives. They lived near Archbold, Ohio during all of their 45 years of married life. He engaged in farming for some years and then went into the oil business and later the automobile and farm implement businesses until his retirement three years ago.

H. Schneider, and Priscilla, Mrs. Harve Driver of Wauseon, ohio, Sarah, Mrs. Elmer Meyer of Creston, Ohio, Ida, Mrs. Guy Graber of Stryker, Ohio, Dora, Mrs. Erie Bontrager of Vestaburg, Mich., and Ruth, Mrs. Thurlow Nofziger of Archbold, and 35 grandchildren. His parents and one brother, Noah, preceded him in death.
In youth he accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Leo Mennonite church, later transferring his membership to the West Clinton church near Pettisville, Ohio, where he remained a faithful member until death. He worked in the Sunday school and actively supported the missionary efforts of the church.
We are especially grateful to God for his mental awareness and patience these last months. He had time to enjoy flowers and fruit. He loved to have the grandchildren come in to visit, to play and to sing. Music and the great hymns of the church inspired his hope in God and Heaven. He appreciated Scripture reading and prayer with family, friends, and ministers who called.
