DEATH COMES TO BISHOP JACOB LICHTY OF MILVERTON, ONTARIO, CANADA

Milverton, Ont. — The widely known Amish church leader and gifted minister, Bishop Jacob Lichty, died here Tuesday morning, May 23, following an illness of several months. Bishop Lichty died on the same farm on which he was born and where he spent his entire life.

Funeral services, held here at his home and at the nearby meeting house Friday, May 26, were attended by an unusually large gathering of local church members and friends. Bishop Lichty reached the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife and five daughters.

The services were conducted by Bishop Seth Byler, Hartville, Ohio, and Min. Enos Kurtz, Mifflin county, Pa.
