Accidents on Farms, Highways Claim Six Lives in East
Reports have been received of accidents in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Ontario within recent weeks which claimed the lives of six persons.
Fourteen-year-old John Henry Stoltzfus, son of Mr. and Mrs. David R. Stoltzfus of Narvon, Pa., was working alone in the field with a three-horse team when he apparently fell under the heavy farm roller he had been riding. He was crushed to death.
A week earlier at Quarryville, Pa. 17-month-old Chester Peachey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Peachey, was crushed to death by a coal truck which was delivering a load of coal to the Peachey home.
A two-car crash near Hartville, Ohio claimed the life of Abraham Otto, 45, a member of the Hartville Mennonite Church. Near Plain City, Ohio. Mrs. Toby J. (Martha) Miller, mother of two children, was a passenger in a car which went out of control on a country road and overturned, causing fatal injuries. A four-year-old Amish girl was killed near Millersburg, Ohio when thrown from a buggy in a runaway. She was Freda Hershberger, daughter of the Adam E. Hershbergers.
Near Atwood, Ont. Mrs. Mary Lichti, 29, mother of three children, was killed in a highway accident while the family was on the way to services at the Listowel Mennonite Church.
