text of obituary:
LEVINA REUSSER LICHTI
Levina Reusser Lichti, daughter of Christian and Rebecca Reusser, was born in Berne, Indiana. September 30, 1875. When she was two years old her parents moved to Moundridge, Kansas, where she grew to young womanhood. She attended the Christian Mennonite church and was baptized by Rev. Valentine Krehbiel.
In 1894 she was married to John Lichti. To this union four children were born: Milton C. and Elmer J. both of Deer Creek, Okla., and Ella L. Schmidt and Wilma L. Jantzen, both of Wichita, Kansas.
For a few years they made their home south of Moundridge and in1898 moved to Ferry, Oklahoma. In 1912 they moved to Deer Creek and in 1920 to Medford, Okla. In 1940 they moved back to Deer Creek to make their home near their two sons. On August 22, 1948 they went to Wichita, Kansas, to stay with their daughter Ella Schmidt and family, because of the illness of the mother.
On Monday, June 6, at 9:15 p. m. she very peacefully fell asleep. During the last year she suffered much, but patiently. Her life was one of unselfish service for her Master; as wife and mother in the home, as a faithful helper to her husband in the ministry of the church, and as a member in the community where she lived.
She leaves her husband, Rev. John Lichti; two sons, Milton and Elmer; two daughters, Ella and Wilma; two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers, many other relatives and a host of friends.
We mourn not as such who have no hope, but are looking forward to the great day of reunion when we all shall be with the Lord through all eternity.
The funeral services were held on June 9 in the Deer Creek Mennonite church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Richard Ratzlaff, and assisted by Rev. A. G. Schmidt of Medford. Scripture texts used were Psalm 27:4 and II Timothy 4:6-8 respectively. Beautiful hymns were rendered for the funeral and burial services by the pianist of the church, by a mixed quartet from Deer Creek and a male quartet from Medford. She was laid to rest at the Deer Creek cemetery, surrounded by many beautiful floral offerings. She rests in peace.
