CHRISTIAN R. LICHTI

Christian R. Lichti was born in Neustadt, Germany on Sept. 8, 1871. He was one of a family of 12 brothers and sisters.

On Oct. 4, 1885, at 14 years of age, he received Christian baptism as a symbol of his faith in Jesus Christ.

He came to the United States when he was 20. He lived in Kansas for several years and then came to Paso Robles, Calif. in 1898.

On Oct. 1, 1902, he was united in marriage with Frieda Hege. To this home were born three children, Elizabeth, Mrs. Omer Thomas of Paso Robles, Walter of Paso Robles, and Hugo of San Miguel, Calif.

He became a charter member of the First Mennonite Church in Paso Robles when it was organized in 1902. He and his wife lived in several farming areas of this community until they moved to Paso Robles about nine years ago. His wife, Frieda, preceded in death on July 19, 1959.

He had enjoyed good health until the last few days of his life. He died March 11, 1963 at the age of 91 years. He is survived by his three children, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
