Blooming Glen, Pa. Correspondent Dies

Blooming Glen, Pa. — A heart attack suffered while in the car en route to a doctor's office claimed the life of Mrs. William H. Lewis Jr., 69, on April 25.

Mrs. Lewis, who had been under a doctor's care for the past year, was a long-time news correspondent for area weekly paper s and the Mennonite Weekly Review, Newton, Kan.

The former Viola A. Moyer, she was a member of the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, the Grand View Hospital Auxiliary, and the Broad Street Neighbors. Funeral services were held April 30 at the Blooming Glen Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons, four daughters, three brothers, 23 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

VIOLA A. LEWIS

Viola A. (Moyer) Lewis, 69, died suddenly Monday evening, April 25, while in her husband's car en route to the office of Dr. Lamar Haupt, South Perkasie, Pa. Death was caused by a coronary occlusion. She had been under a physician's care for the past year.

Mrs. Lewis, who was the wife of William H. Lewis, Jr., resided at Loux's Corner, Perkasie R. D. 1. She was a native of Dublin, Hilltown township, the daughter of the late Reuben C. and Elizabeth (Armstrong) Moyer.

Mrs. Lewis was the Hilltown news correspondent for the Souderton Independent, North Penn Reporter, Perkasie News Herald, Quakertown Free Press, and the Mennonite Weekly Review.

She was a member of the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, where she was active in the WFMA, and was also a member of the Grand View Hospital Auxiliary and of the Broad Street Neighbors.

Surviving are her husband, William; children, Leonard Lewis, Dublin, William R. Lewis, Perkasie R. R. 1, Elizabeth, wife of William Godshall, Souderton, Arthur M. Lewis, Kempton, Genette [sic Jeanette] M. Lewis, Colmar, Mary Ellen, wife of Arnold Nyce, Souderton, Gertrude, wife of Edward Haas, Lenhartsville R.D., Mildred, wife of Charles Kozitsky, Perkasie R. D. 1; 23 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Reuben A. Moyer, Perkasie, J. Arthur Moyer, Dublin, and Howard E. Moyer, Perkasie.

Two sisters, one brother and one grandchild preceded her in death.

Services were held at the Blooming Glen Mennonite Church on April 30 at 2 p.m., with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
