In the year of 1874 his parents migrated with their children to America, settling down near Goessel, kansas, where they made their home. While residing here our father received religious education conducted by Rev. Buller and was baptized upon his confession of faith, August 19, 11883 and received as a member into the Alexanderwohl church.

In the year of 1889l, August 6, he entered holy matrimony wth Susanna Warkentin. Four children were born unto them. Two sons and two daughters. One of the sons loosing [sic] his life due to an accident in early life.

On January 6th, 1909, he was bereaved of his wife, our death mother, which meant much sorrow and a great loss in our home.

In the last five years his health has been failing and in spite of repeated medical attention and advice he failed to regain his health. On March 8th he underwent a serious operation, but his condition did not improve. Gradually his strength deminished [sic] and on June 10th at 3 o'clock A. M. he passed away.

Our dear father was always determined to serve his fellowman as best he knew how, he was accommodating and cheerful in his work and always a good loving father to us. We shall always remember him in true love and long to meet him again in the life where there will be no death and parting. — The Family.
