Early-Day Settler In Southern Minnesota Dies at Age 95

Mt. Lake, Minn. — John P. Lepp, one of the pioneer immigrants to this southern Manitoba region from southern Russia, died at Bethel Hospital here on July 16 at the age of 95.

Mr. Lepp was born at Sparan, South Russia in 1873 and came to this community at the age of four and a half. He farmed in the Delft and Jeffers communities for many years, retiring in 1941. More than a year ago, while a resident of Jeffers, he fell and fractured a hip. Since then he had been cared for at Eventide Home and the Bethel Nursing Home here.

The funeral was conducted July 19 at the Mt. Lake M. B. Church.

Survivors include his third wife, the former Anna Warkentin of Leamington, Ont., 10 children and their families, and a sister, Mrs. Katharina Quiring of Mt. Lake.
