Two College Students Of Bridgewater, S. D. Killed in Auto Crash

Freeman, S. D. — The Bridgewater, S. D. community near here was saddened by a one-car accident which claimed the lives of two Bidgewater college students and injured three others. All were students at South Dakota State College, Brookings.

The largely attended funeral of Alvida Tschetter, 21, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tschetter and a senior in home economics, was held Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Salem Mennonite Brethren Church. Rev. Franklyn L. Yost, her pastor officiated.

Services for Dennis Leitheiser, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leitheiser, were held Feb.25 at the St. Stephen's Catholic Church.

The five young people were returning home for the week end on Feb. 22 when the car driven by Leitheiser skidded on a curve and crashed into a bridge near Salem, S. D. Miss Tschetter died at the scene, and the Leitheister youth died that evening at the Freeman hospital.

JoJae Glanzer, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Glanzer and Michael Schroeder, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Schroeder, both suffered back injuries in the crash. Arlie Dahlman, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dahlman, sustained a broken ankle.
