JACOB J. LEHN

Jacob J. Lehn, was, born on July 16, 1903 in the Ukraine, South Russia. Due to the pressures of civil unrest his father moved the family to Canada where they settled on a farm near Aberdeen, Saskatchewan.

At the age of 14, Jacob accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and Lord. It was an experience he cherished more than anything this world had to offer, and a few years later he followed the Lord in baptism and was accepted into the fellowship of the Aberdeen Mennonite Brethren Church.

In 1926 he married Tena Sawatzky, also of Aberdeen, and chose farming as his life's work. He enjoyed farming, brought a real measure of faith and trust into his work, and possessed a wholesome combination of zest for life and a willingness to go to be with the Lord.

In 1963 he had his church membership transferred to the Nutana MB Church in Saskatoon, where he continued to show a sincere desire to serve the Lord and his fellowman, in and through the church.

In early September, 1965 he was admitted to Saskatoon City Hospital where he underwent surgery. Although he increased spiritually during this time, his physical condition grew worse. On April 17, 1966, the Lord took him to his eternal home, relieving him forever of all pain and suffering.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his widow, (Mrs.) Tena Lehn; two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Art Wiebe) of Aberdeen, and Laurene of Saskatoon; one son Arthur of Prince Albert; three brothers, William and Henry of Aberdeen and Alex of Saskatoon, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family deeply feels the loss of husband and father, but anticipate a glad reunion in the presence of the Lord.
