DAVID P. LEHMAN

David P. Lehman, son of Peter and Elizabeth (Kipfer) Lehman, was born March 11, 1879, and died at Dunlap Memorial Hospital, Orrville, Ohio on Feb. 26, 1957, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 15 days. He had been ill eight weeks.

As a young man he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour, was baptized and received into the fellowship of the Mennonite Church, serving faithfully for a number of years as a Sunday School teacher and chorister of the Kidron Mennonite congregation.

Mr. Lehman was married to Caroline Bixler on June 1,1905. Five children were born to this union: Lester Lehman of Orrville, Wilson, who died in infancy, Clair of Orrville, Laura Lehman of the home, and Rosella (Mrs. Leo Amstutz) of Apple Creek, Ohio. Until October 1955 he and his wife resided at the farm home of his birth, two miles south of Kidron, after which they moved to Orrville.

On June 1, 1955, the Lehmans celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with their family and their many friends.

He leaves to mourn his departure his bereaved wife, four children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna (Mrs. Christian Zuercher) of Harrisburg, Va., and Sarah (Mrs. Simon W. Sommer) of Millersburg, Ohio. One son, three grandchildren, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held March 1 at the Kidron Mennonite Church in charge of Rev. Reuben Hofstetter, Rev. Isaac Zuercher and Rev. W. D. Lindsay of the C.M.A. Church of Orrville. Burial was made in the Kidron church cemetery.
