AARON J. LEHMAN

Aaron J. Lehman, son of the late John P. and Mary (Zuercher) Lehman, was born April 19, 1836 [sic 1896], near Kidron, Ohio, and passed away Nov. 29, at his home after a year's illness, aged 58 years and 10 days.

He spent his entire life in the Kidron community where he was engaged in farming and fruit growing.

Early in his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized and became a member of the Sonnenberg Mennonite church where he remained a faithful member until his death.

On March 6, 1919 he was united in marriage to Edna Amstutz, who survives. To this union were born four sons and one daughter; Veron [sic Vernon] and Nathan of Dalton, R. D., Freeman and Louis of Goshen College, Goshen, Ind., and Martha, Mrs. Clair Geiser of the home. Also surviving are four brothers; Simon, David, and Martin of Kidron, and Weldon of Wooster; six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. His father and mother both preceded him in death.

He was always a lover of music and a singer, having served the church as chorister for many years. He also served as secretary-treasurer of the Church School Board for a number of years. He was very fond of children and often showed his kindness to them.

Funeral services were held on Dec. 2, at the home and the Sonnenberg Mennonite church. Officiating ministers were Rev. Freeman Aschliman, of Toledo, and Rev. James Stauffer. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
