ELEANOR LARSEN
(Mrs.) Eleanor Larsen of Elm Creek, Man. passed away September 9 after a lengthy illness. She was born June 22, 1910, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Walker of Neepawa. She lived in Neepawa until 1938 when her mother moved to Winnipeg with her daughters. In 1942 she was united to Oskar Larsen and in 1947 they began farming at Elm Creek. Two daughters, Linda and Anna, were born to the family.
In 1956 the family began attending the Gospel Light Mission at Carman and have been members there ever since. Mrs. Larsen was an active participant in church affairs and testified in word and deed that she belonged to Christ whom she had accepted at 21 years.
The funeral service was held Monday, September 13, in the Carman Gospel Light Church. Rev. John Unger, pastor of the church, spoke on one of the deceased's favourite Scripture passages, Philippians 4. Rev. Abe Quiring, former pastor of the church, spoke on "The Brevity of Life". Concerning our lives he said, "We determine our destination, but God determines the duration."
She is survived by her husband, Oskar; two daughters, Linda and Anna of Elm Creek; three sisters and one brother.
