Fatal Injury In Fire Fighting Accident

Plain City, Ohio. — Funeral services were held at the Bethesda A. M. church here July 9 for Monroe Kurtz, 53, who died July 8 as result of injuries received in a fire fighting accident the previous day.

Monroe, together with 15 other volunteers, was helping put out a warehouse fire when he was hit in the backlash of the hose which got caught in an obstruction. Knocked out in the blow, he never regained consciousness.

Monroe and his wife were leaders of the Fremont, O., VS unit. He is survived by his wife and 10 children.

Ministers participating in the funeral were Raymond Kauffman, Erwin Hostetler, and W. W. Wagler of Partridge, Kan.
