Minister of Virginia Church Dies During Visit in N. Carolina

Dayton, Va. — Funeral services for Rev. John E. Kurtz, minister (Virginia Conference), were conducted at the church on Nov. 10. Bishop Lloyd Horst, Bayard Shank and Daniel Brubaker officiated.

Rev. and Mrs. Kurtz had gone to Pantego, N. C. to vist [sic] their daughter, Mrs. Keith Mullet and family, and he suffered a fatal heart attack while hunting geese in a field there.

A native of Belleville, Pa., he had served in the ministry for 28 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves five daughters and their families.
