Father of Missionary Dies in Accident

Columbiana, Ohio. — A tractor accident on July 1 claimed the life of Earl R. Kurtz, farmer of the Salem community and father of Anna Marie Kurtz, missionary to Ghana. The daughter is at home on a three-month furlough.

It was reported that Mr. Kurtz was mowing hay when the tractor turned over backwards, pinning him underneath.

Besides his daughter he leaves his widow, Molly; three sons, Raymond, Wilbur and Edgar, all of Route 5, Salem; one sister and one brother; and nine grandchildren.

He was a member of the Midway Mennonite Church.
