Indiana Farmer Dies Of Suffocation in Corn Bin Accident

Goshen, Ind. — An accident in a corn storage bin at his farm near Ligonier claimed the life of Albert A. Kuhn, 44, on March 19.

He was in the bin feeding corn into an auger when apparently a large bank of corn collapsed and buried him, causing death by suffocation. At about 3 p.m. his son Carlyle, working in a nearby bin, was unable to find his father. After a search of the farm buildings, it was decided he must have been buried in the corn. The body was recovered about 7:20 p.m.

Funeral services were held March 22 at the Clinton Brick Mennonite Church, of which he was a member.

Surviving in addition to his wife, the former Laura Miller, and son Carlyle are two daughters and 10 brothers and sisters.
