• Relatives here received word that Rev. Ernst Kuhlmann, 72, retired missionary to China, died at Wupperthal, West Germany, on Aug. 30. Born on May 8, 1883 at Wilfrat near Dusseldorf, Rev. Kuhlmann served on the China field for over 40 years under a German mission board. His life history entitled "Lebenserfahrungen" (Life's Experiences) was published this year as a paperback. His first wife was the former Maria Dyck, sister of the late Rev. H. I. Dyck of Elbing, Kan. His second wife, the former Clara Schweinguber, also preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Paul, of Newbury Park, Calif, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Herman Dyck of Elbing, as well as other relatives in the Elbing, Whitewater and Newton communities.
