PETER H. KROEKER
Peter H. Kroeker was born in Sagradowka, Russia, on August 31, 1899. Here he also received his schooling. On June 15, 1924 he was baptized and received into the Alliance Church.
He was married to Annie Bargen on September 24, 1924 and two years later they came to Canada where they spent their first seven years at Gilroy, Sask. Here they joined the Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1933 they moved to Glenbush, Sask. where they farmed for thirty-two years. They retired in 1965 in the hamlet of Glenibush.
The family is grateful to God for His many blessings and for His grace and nearness during Mr. Kroeker's frequent periods of illness. Although another heart attack hospitalized him for fifteen days, he was able to spend the last seventeen days at home. This was an answer to prayer and the sincere desire of his heart. On September 17, 1972, he passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Annie; two sons, Pete and Jake, both of Medstead; four daughters, Helen (Mrs. Henry) Braun of Chilliwack, B.C., Margaret (Mrs. Cornie) Friesen of Glenbush, Betty (Mrs. Walden) Warkentin of Denver, Colorado, and Mary (Mrs. Jim) Cameron as Saskatoon; 21 grandchildren; a brother, Jacob of Grand Prairie, Alberta and a sister, Nettie of Russia.
Funeral services were held in the Glenbush Mennonite Brethren Church on September 20, with Rev. Abe Pauls and Mr. Gerhard Bargen ministering.
