HELEN KROEKER
Helen Kroeker was born July 24, 1904, to Henry D. and Sara Woelk Kroeker near Inman, Kan. She received her early education at Welcome School near Inman.
When she was 14, she and her family moved to Canada. She committed her life to the Lord as a teenager. She was baptized in August 1921 by Klaus D. Willems and became a member of the Clermont, Alta., Krimmer Mennonite Brethren Church.
After five years, the family returned to the Inman area and she transferred her membership to the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, where she remained a member until her death.
For many years she worked in the laundry department at McPherson hospital. In 1960, she and her family moved to McPherson to be closer to their place of employment. After retirement she enjoyed housework and gardening at home.
After several years of failing health, she moved to Pleasant View home in Inman, where she resided until her death March 2, at McPherson Memorial Hospital at age 84.
Survivors include two sisters, Sara Kroeker and Margaret Kroeker of Pleasant View Home, Inman,; one brother, Jake W. Kroeker and his wife, Agatha, of Buhler; and one sister-in-law, Martha Kroeker.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Henry and Pete; one sister, Anna; one brother-in-law, John Kroeker; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Kroeker.
Funeral services were held at Zoar MB Church, Inman, with Gary Janzen officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
