Mrs. Geo. J. Kroeker

Mrs. George J. Kroeker, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Peter J. Friesen, was born on Noember 18, 1889, in York county, Nebraska. In her early years she attended the local public school and also the parochial school. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith by her father, the Elder Peter J. Friesen, and accepted as member into the Bethesda Mennonite church.

On April 29, 1909, she was united in marriage to George J. Kroeker. This union was blessed with nine children: 4 sons and 5 daughters.

Throughout her life she was not strong and often suffered severely. As mother of a home her duties were many. She was always concerned about the welfare of her family, often forgetting her own well-being.

The last year her health seemed to fail noticeably. Medical aid was sought, which gave only temporary relief. Wednesday, August 31, she complained about severe headaches. Medical aid was sought, but no relief seemed to come. Sunday, September 4, her doctor advised that she be brought to the hospital in Sutton. This was done and upon further examination it was found that she had brain fever. She never regained consciousness during her stay at the hospital. All that medical care could offer was given her, but all seemed to be in vain for the Lord’s will was to take her to her eternal rest.

She passed away on September 10, 7:15 p.m., to meet Him whom she in all simplicity served and loved.

She leaves to mourn her early departure her husband, George J. Kroeker, Bertha (Mrs. H. J. Janzen), Willard, Selma, Mildred (Mrs. Henry Epp), Rufus, Carl, Esther, Chester and Darlene, who is only 10 years old; also 5 grandchildren; 3 sisters: Tena J. Ratzlaff; 7 brothers: John D., Peter D., Henry P., Rev. Abr. W., Jacob H., David P., and William P.; also a host of friends and relatives.

She attained an age of 48 years 9 months and 23 days.

We wish to thank all who have so kindly shown us their sympathy during the sickness and death of our loved one. — The Family.
