● George W. Kroeker, 73, who farmed near Inman for many years, died Sunday at the Goessel Hospital. He had lived at McPherson since 1960. He was a member of the Zoar M. B. Church near Inman, where the funeral is to be conducted Wednesday afternoon by Rev. E. C. Ollenburger.

GEORGE W. KROEKER

George W. Kroeker, son of Henry D. and Sara (Woelk) Kroeker, was born Jan. 6, 1894, on a farm near Inman, Kan. where he attended the Welcome Public School and the Zoar Academy. On Dec. 5, 1909, he became a member of the Zoar Mennonite Church and remained a faithful member of his church to the end.

George engaged in farming until moving to McPherson in 1960. Seven months of failing health and critical illness preceded that eternal rest which came at the Bethesda Hospital at Goessel, Kan. on Sunday evening, Dec. 24, 1967 just 13 days before his 74th birthday. His parents, an infant sister and brother, and his brother-in-law, John T. Kroeker, preceded him in death.

His immediate devoted family includes his four sisters, Anna, Helen, and Margaret Kroeker, all of the home in McPherson, and Mrs. Sara Kroeker, also of McPherson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry W. and Elizabeth Kroeker of Dinuba, Calif., Pete and Martha Kroeker of Conway, Kan., Jake and Agatha Kroeker of Buhler, Kan.; an aunt, Mrs. A. F. Klassen of Fredonia, Kan.; other relatives and many friends and neighbors.

George Kroeker was of a friendly and congenial nature, and had made many friends in all walks of life. He enjoyed farm life, and appreciated God's great outdoors and wonders of nature. He was a brother and uncle who leaves cherished memories, not only to his loved ones, but to his friends and neighbors.

The funeral was conducted Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, with Rev. E. C. Ollenburger and Rev. D. C. Pauls officiating.
