FRANK P. KROEKER
Frank P. Kroeker of Saskatoon passed away on March 8. He was born to Peter F. and Katharina (Schroeder) Kroeker on April 25, 1890 in southern Russia. After elementary education, he graduated from a book- keeping course. In 1909 he married his former schoolmate, Lena Goerzen. While he was in alternative service, in forestry, in 1914, his wife became ill and died. During the first war he served as an orderly in a Red Cross hospital. There he met Susie Huebert and married her on May 27, 1917. They immigrated to Canada in 1924 and settled down near Hepburn, Sask. in 1925, where they lived for 29 years. On June 20, 1926,he was baptized and joined the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church. He was active as a Sunday school superintendent and served on Saskatchewan and Canadian Conference committees. He was predeceased by son Nicholas in 1957. He is survived by his wife Susie; children and spouses: Frank and Anne, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Henry and Tena of Virgil, Walter and Mary Ellen of Ottawa, Helen and Ken Bush of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Evelyn Kroeker of Chatham (all Ont.), Mary and Nick Voth of Winnipeg, Ernest and Sadie, (Mrs.) Elsie Dirks of Saskatoon, and Martha and Norman Schultz of Waldheim, Sask.; 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held March 12 in the Central (Saskatoon) MB Church, with pastor Rueben Baerg officiating.
