MRS. GEORGE KROEKER

Aganetha Kroeker, wife of Mr. George C. Kroeker, deacon of the Central (Winnipeg) Mennonite Brethren Church, was born on May 11, 1887 in Hirschau, southern Russia, where she spent her childhood. She found Christ as her personal Saviour in 1906 and was baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren church. In 1917 she was married to George C. Kroeker in the village of Talma, Terek, where they lived until 1925. In that year the family emigrated to Canada and took up farming near Alexander and Justice, Manitoba. They continued to farm until 1947 when they moved to Winnipeg.

Mrs. Kroeker passed away in her 83rd year on November 12, after a short illness. The funeral was held on November 15 in the Central Church with G.D. Huebert, H.H. Janzen and John Wall ministering. A small group of women from the ladies missionary circle served with songs.

She is survived by her beloved husband; three daughters, Tina (Mrs. John) Huebert, Selma (Mrs. Jacob) Penner, Agnes, at home; and one son, John; all of Winnipeg; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kroeker passed away in complete peace with God. The church has lost one of her most regular members.
