MRS. ABE KROEKER

Mrs. Abe Kroeker, nee Aganetha Friesen, daughter of Klaas and Aganetha Friesen, was born April 20, 1894 at Jansen, Neb. She received her elementary education in a parochial school at Jansen, and later in the Welcome School southwest of Inman, Kan.

She was baptized upon confession of faith in her Redeemer Jesus Christ on June 25, 1911, by Elder Cornelius Wall of Jansen.

She was married to Abe Kroeker on June 9, 1919 by Abraham P. Neufeld. They enjoyed married life for a period of over 43 years. The Lord blessed them and prospered them both spiritually and materially.

They lived on a farm southwest of Inman from 1919 to 1925. When a brother-in-law, John P. Enns, passed away, they made their home with the bereaved family upon the departed brother's request. In 1929 they moved to a farm near the John P. Enns place, and resided there till 1951 when they moved to Buhler, Kansas.

Shortly after her marriage she became a member of the Bethel Church whose faithful member she remained until her death. She lived a consecrated Christian life, using every energy to make Christ known to men. She led a life of prayer and experienced many answers to prayer.

She had an attack of typhoid fever in the earlier years of her married life which left her in a weakened condition. On Saturday afternoon while having dinner she was suddenly stricken with a heart attack and passed to her heavenly reward, reaching the age of 68 years, eight months and 22 days.

Those who mourn her sudden death are her husband of Buhler; four sisters, Anna, Mrs. John P. Enns of the Pleasant View Home, Mary, Mrs. George Klassen and husband of Fresno, Calif., Sara, Mrs. Frank Klassen of Wichita, Kan., and Elizabeth, Mrs. Abe Schnell, Wichita; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lizzie Friesen, Beatrice, Neb., two brothers, Cornelius Friesen and family of PetuLuma [sic Petaluma], Calif. and Henry Friesen and wife Helen of Midway City, Calif.; also 14 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from her husband's family.

Three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. All but one were infants.

Funeral services were conducted in the Bethel Church on Jan. 16, 1962 by Rev. P. A. Wedel, assisted by Rev. Peter Neufeld.
