Well Known Minister And Author Called Away in Death

REV. ABR. KROEKER CAME TO AMERICA FROM RUSSIA AFTER SOVIET REVOLUTION

Mountain Lake, Minn. — Rev. Abr. Kroeker, 81 year old minister and author, died at his home here Tuesday, Nov. 21, after a long illness.

Rev. Kroeker was widely known for his devotional books, on doctrinal themes and on experiences of Mennonites in Russia during World War I and the revolution that followed. In Russia he was editor of the Friedensstimmee from 1903 to 1s20 [sic].

After having suffered extreme danger, hardship and privation in Russia, he came to America in 1922, while his family arrived about two years later. After residing in Winnipeg, Canada, for some time, Rev. Kroeker and his family moved to Mountain Lake, where he spent the remaining years of his life.

Rev. Kroeker was born Dec. 11 1863, at Rosenort in South Russia. On Sept 10, 1892, he was married to Agatha Langemann, who, together with six children, now survive him.

Funeral services were held at the Mennonite Brethern [sic] church here Monday afternoon, Nov. 27.
