CLARA S. KREIDER

Clara, daughter of Peter J. and Catherine Friedt Steiner, was born August 12, 1877 in Milton Twp., Wayne County, Ohio; died at home in Wadsworth, Ohio June 4, 1956,age 78 years, nine months and 23 days.

While young she moved with her widowed mother, brother and sisters to Guilford township in Medina County. On April 27, 1897, she was united in marriage with Henry R. Kreider, and on their farm home near Wadsworth, Ohio, their seven children grew to adulthood.

With her husband she was received by water baptism on Feb. 25, 1906, into the Bethel Mennonite Church where she remained faithful throughout life. She will be remembered for a gentleness of manner and for her devotion to church and home. Her husband and a granddaughter preceded her in death.

Surviving are four sons, Herman h. of Istanbul, Turkey, Claude, Ward, and Charles of Wadsworth; three daughters, Iva — Mrs. A. C. Moine of Sterling, Mildred — Mrs. Milford McClure of Akron, and Lucille of Wadsworth; two sisters, Fannie — Mrs. Isaac Hunsberger of Wadsworth, and Orpha — Mrs. P. J. Smucker of Smithville; 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2:00 p. m. June 6, 1956, in the Bethel Mennonite Church near Wadsworth, with the pastor, J. Robert Kreider, in charge. Interment was made in Lower Mennonite Cemetery.
