John Krehbiel, son of Christian and Lena (Dester)Krehbiel, was born in Rehn, Bavaria, Germany, on August 31, 1865, and died December 4, 1944. He was baptized in the Mennonite Church in his youth, and was a member of the Menno Mennonite Church at the time of his departure. When sixteen he migrated with his parents to Summerfield, Illinois, two years later to Halstead, Kansas, and in 1890 to Lind, Washington. In 1899 he was married to Christiana Jansen. He is mourned by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Baumgart and Mrs. Helen Peterson; and one sister, Mrs. Susie Neare.
