MRS. D. C. KREHBIEL
Clara Leah Krehbiel, daughter of Rev. Jacob and Leah Strickler Krehbiel, was born March 21, 1876 in Clarence Center, N. Y.
She was baptized by her father on confession of her faith in her early teens and joined the First Mennonite Church of Clarence Center.
She attended the local schools and Clarence High School and was graduated from Buffalo State Teachers College (New York) in 1898. She taught for six years in the city schools of Buffalo.
On June 12, 1907, she was united in marriage with Daniel C. Krehbiel of Summerfield, Ill. Their first home was established in St. Louis, Mo. The family moved to Reedley, Calif. Oct. 11, 1908.
She was a faithful member of the First Mennonite Church of Reedley. She held various offices in the Women's Missionary Society: President for three years, secretary for 12 years, and program chairman for 13 years. For many years she was superintendent of the Beginners Department in the Sunday school. She was president of the Women's Bible Class and was Courtesy Chairman of the Worthwhile Circle for six years. For 13 years she served on the General Conference Women's Missionary Assn. as the Pacific District Conference Advisor.
On June 12, 1957 Mr. and Mrs. Krehbiel celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Daniel C. Krehbiel died Aug. 30, 1966. Mrs. Krehbiel died Feb. 1, 1967, reaching the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 11 days.
She leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Naffziger of Visalia, Calif. and Mrs. Winifred Warkentin of Fresno, Calif.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Misses Emma and Mattie Krehbiel of Tonawanda, N. Y.; a sister-in-law, Miss Clara Krehbiel of Reedley.
Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite Church of Reedley on Feb. 4 with Rev. Roland R. Goering officiating.
