MRS. ANNIE KRAHN

(Mrs.) Annie Krahn was born July 9, 1905 to Mr. and Mrs. George Sawatsky at Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, and went to be with her Lord on May 20, 1977. She had a happy childhood and at the age of 13 years accepted Christ as her Saviour. She was baptized by Rev. David Dyck in 1920 and joined the Aberdeen Mennonite Brethren Church.

With Peter Krahn, whom she married on November 15, 1925, she lived on a farm at Aberdeen, and it was here that God blessed them with four sons and one daughter. Physical and financial hardships followed during the depression years. After her husband's serious illness, Mrs. Krahn was left alone to rear the family and provide for their needs. In spite of hard times, she never gave in to discouragment, but always tried to keep up the family morale. She seldom missed a Sunday church service, and the trip back and forth was usually accompanied by family singing. In 1956 Mrs. Krahn moved to Saskatoon and joined the Central Mennonite Brethren Church. Soon after she became seriously ill, but through God's grace he gave her 20 more years. She was hospitalized in February, 1977, and cancer was diagnosed. On May 20 the Lord relieved her of her suffering and peacefully took her to himself.

Mrs. Krahn's last days were a source of strength to many. She never wavered in her faith but was calm in the thought that God would take care of her. She leaves to mourn her children: George and Hildegard of Vancouver; Henry and Luella of Saskatoon; Herb and Anne of Calgary; Breata and Henry Klassen of Calgary; and John and Evelyn of Saskatoon; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother and five sisters; and numerous relatives and friends.
