Six Year Old Child Killed In Car Accident
ROSEMARY KRABILL CRUSHED UNDER CAR NEAR WAYLAND, IOWA
Wayland, Iowa. — Rosemary Krabill, six year old daughter of Prof. and Mrs. Vincent Krabill of Hesston, Kansas, was crushed to death when the car driven by her aunt, Joan Krabill, overturned in loose sand and gravel near the South Washington viaduct Tuesday after¬noon, July 18.
Death is believed to have been instantaneous. Miss Krabill suffered a broken arm and painful bruises. Passersby immediately called an ambulance and about 15 minutes afterward the child’s mother, who had been following in another car, came upon the scene.
Prof. Krabill is an instructor at Hesston College, but the fam¬ily is spending the summer in Iowa while he is engaged in post-graduate study in a branch school of Iowa University at Milford. Besides her parents, Rosemary is survived by two sisters, Ann, 8, and Rebecca Sue, 2.
Rosemary passed her sixth birthday July 7.
Funeral services were held Friday forenoon, July 21, at the Sugar Creek church, with Bishop Simon Gingerich in charge. He was assisted by Rev. Vernon Roth and Rev. Laurence Horst of Hesston, Kansas.
