text of obituary:
MRS. MARY KOSLOWSKY
Mrs. Mary Lohrenz Koslowsky., daughter of Heinrich and Elizabeth (nee Wiens) Lohrenz, was born on June 30, 1884, west of Moundridge, Kansas. She spent the first eight years in the Moundridge community. After spending another six years in Butler county the family moved into the Ebenfeld community. Here she was converted through the ministry of Rev. Cornelius Nickel and baptized on Sept. 3, 1899.
She married Martin J. Koslowsky on Oct. 1, 1905. With this marriage she assumed motherhood of his three sons. In 1925 the Koslowsky family moved to Lustre, Mont. where they resided for 14 years. In 1934 she experienced the deep sorrow of losing her husband through death. He died on Oct. 27. Five years after the death her husband she together with part of her family moved to the Steinreich community where she lived until her death.
She was a loving, praying mother, always deeply concerned about the spiritual welfare of her children. She loved the church, and always tried to attend services regularly with her children.
On May 12 after coming home from prayer meeting she fell and broke her leg just above the ankle. She was taken to the hospital in Wichita, and with careful help from the doctors and God's grace she recovered enough so that she was taken home on July 10. However it was soon discovered that her ailment was deeper than on the fractured leg. Her heart had weakened to the extent that she had to be taken to the Axtell hospital in Newton just nine days later. Her strength gradually weakened and she went on to meet her Lord and Savious [sic] at 5.05 on July 22, 1954. She reached the age of 70 years and 22 days.
Beside her husband Martin Koslowsky, an infant daughter Minnie preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her departure 11 children, six sons and five daughters, David of Canon City [sic Cañon City], Colo., John of Goodland, Kans., Henry of Peabody, Martin of Frazer, Mont., Peter and Jacob of Peabody, Anna, Mrs. Henry Beier, of Frazer, Mont., Lena, Mrs. Lewis [sic Louis] Toavs of Wolf Point, Mont., Tina [sic Tena] of Peabody, Elizabeth, Mrs. Arthur Fast of Frazer, Mont., and Mary, Mrs. Clarence Seibel, of Fredonia, Kans.; four sons-in-law, four daughters-in-law, 27 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four brothers and one step brother, two sisters and one step sister and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
We mourn, not as such who have no hope, but we have the heartfelt assurance that we shall meet her again at God’s appointed time.
Funeral services were held the afternoon of July 25 at the Ebenfeld M. B. church, with Rev. J. Gerbrandt, Rev. C. F. Simon and Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander officiating. Music was provided by a men’s quartet. Her final resting place is the Ebenfeld cemetery. — The Family.
