Elizabeth Schierling Kornelsen was born on Jan. 22, 1873 in South Russia. At the age of six years she with her parents William and Anna Pauls Schierling migrated to North America, homesteading southeast of Buhler, Kansas. Later they moved to the Inman community where she spent the rest of her life. At the age of 18 mother accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour. Upon confession of her faith she was baptized by Elder Jacob Klassen and accepted into the membership of the Zoar Church, of which she remained a faithful and active member until her death.
