ABE S. KORNELSEN
Abe S. Kornelsen was born Aug. 8, 1903 to George F. and Elizabeth Kornelsen and died at Salina, Kan. on Nov. 1, 1966, attaining the age of 63 years, two months and 24 days.
His childhood and early years were spent on the farm of his parents southwest of Inman, Kan. He attended the South Inman rural school, graduated from the Zoar Academy and the academic course of Central College, McPherson, Kan.
Upon his confession of faith he was baptized by Elder John Esau on June 23, 1918, becoming a member of the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church.
He was married to Catherine Harms on Nov. 17, 1929 at Hillsboro, Kan.
In his younger years he was active in farming and later took up the Chase dealership in Lyons, and later in Salina, Kan. We transferred our membership to the First Methodist Church of Salina on Dec. 30, 1956.
In various ways he gave himself to serve God and the church, which was a vital source of strength for his daily living.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, Isaac , George and Jake, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Peters.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife; the children, Rodney H. and Faith Kornelsen and two granddaughters, of Denver, Colo.; one brother, William of Minneola, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Peters, Greensburg, Kan., and Mrs. Elizabeth Friesen, Meade, Kan. — The Family.
