COMMUNITY MOURNS WITH WITH [sic] MR. & MRS. JAKE COOP [sic KOOP] OVER DEATH OF THEIR CHILD
Corn, Okla., April 8. — Tragedy struck in this community again Thursday afternoon when the twenty-one months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Koop was killed instantly when the child accidentally walked into the path of a school bus being backed off the KKoop [sic] yard by the father, preparatory to making the regular run of taking school children home from school.
Mr. Koop had been at home playing with the little girl and did not notice the child back of the bus when backing up with the vehicle. Mr. Koop is considered a very careful driver and has driven busses for the Corn school system for the past seven years.
A large audience gathered at the Corn church Saturday afternoon to attend the funeral services and comfort the griefstricken parents.
The rev. J. J. Wiebe and P. F. Wall spoke the sermons at the services and a ladies trio and a male quartet sang appropriate song selections.
Interment as made at the cemetery south of Corn. Rev. Henry Hege spoke a sermon at the cemetery and the male quartet sang several numbers. — Washita Co. Enterprise.
