Lifelong Resident of Halstead Area Dies When Tractor Overturns

Halstead, Kan. — A tractor accident claimed the life of Eli Koehn, lifelong resident of this area last Saturday.

Mr. Koehn was plowing at the Fritz Rodenberg farm southeast of here, and investigating officers said his plow apparently became mired in mud. He then unhooked the tractor and attached a chain to the plow in an attempt to free it. The tractor turned over backwards and caused fatal head injuries.

Mr. Koehn made his home with two sisters, Lena and Inez. He was a member of the Grace Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted on Tuesday forenoon.
