Father of Two Fatally Hurt When Tractor Overturns in Pit Silo

Scott City, Kan. — Funeral services for Donald D. Koehn, 26, who was fatally injured in a tractor accident, were held at the Scott city Mennonite Church on Oct. 4. Rev. Robert Koehn and Ervin Nightengale were in charge of the service.

Mr. Koehn died at the scene after the tractor he was driving in a pit silo overturned on an incline, crushing him between the top of the cab and the steering wheel and dashboard. He was working at the Virgil Stoll farm 19 miles northwest of here and was making one last run over the silage to pack it when the tractor fell over backwards.

Survivors include his widow, the former Ella Mae Decker of DeRidder, La., and two daughters of the home; his parents, M. and Mrs. Ed Koehn of Ulysses; four brothers and two sisters.
