— Funeral services for Miss Minnie Koehn, 64, of Goessel were held Wednesday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl church, Rev. P. A. Wedel officiating. Miss Koehn died Saturday at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel. Survivors in the immediate family are three sisters, Mrs. Helen Dalke of Reedley, Calif., Mrs. H. H. Schmidt and Mrs. P. P. Androes of Newton; and two brothers, David C. Koehn and Henry Koehn of Newton.

WILHELMINA KOEHN

Wilhelmina Koehn, daughter of Cornelius and Wilhelmina Lehrman Koehn, was born Dec. 10, 1891, near Goessel, Kansas.

She attended the Antioch Public School from her parental home. As a young girl she was frequently ill which greatly handicapped her in obtaining further training.

She was baptized upon confession of faith in her Redeemer, Jesus Christ, May 26, 1912, by elder Henry Banman, and joined the Alexanderwohl Church, whose faithful member she remained until her death. HeHr [sic] father passed away April 18, 1926, and after the death of her mother in 1934 she lived in her own home in Goessel, Kansas.

She was very fond of sacred music. And when asked whether she was afraid to live alone, she would reply, "No I'm not afraid. The Lord will protect me. I say my Bible verses and then I retire feeling the presence of God." The departed lived a simple life of faith in her Lord.

While living in Goessel she loved to help in the farm of her sister, Mrs. H. H. Schmidt, which is adjoining the town of Goessel.

She enjoyed fairly good health in the later years of her life. Towards the eve of her life she suffered a number of strokes which brought about her death. She was a patient in the Bethesda Hospital the last six months of her life. She passed to her eternal home the morning of May 5,1956 reaching th eage of 64 years,four months and 25 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, David and wife Anna of Route 2, Newton, Henry and wife Sarah, Newton; three sisters, Anna, Mrs. H. H. Schmidt, Goessel, Helena, Mrs. Isaac Dalke, Reedley, Calif., and Margaret, Mrs. P. P. Androes and her husband, Newton; two brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Those who preceded her in death were two brothers and one sister who passed away in early childhood,and the following in later life: Mary, Mrs. Bernhard H. Schmidt, Sarah,who later also became Mrs. Bernhard H. Schmidt, John, and Cornelius, who passed away about ten weeks ago.

"And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away." Isa. 35:10.

Funeral services were conducted May 9 by Rev. P. A. Wedel, assisted by Rev. H. B. Schmidt, at the Bergen funeral home and the Alexanderwohl church.
