SEMEI KOEHN

Semei Koehn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben T. Koehn, was born Feb. 27, 1888, at Durham, Kan. He passed away June 18, 1965, at the age of 77 years.

In 1906 he, together with his parents, moved to Alberta, Canada. In 1911, they moved to Winton, Calif.

In 1915 he was united in marriage to Mary Arnold. To this union were born two sons, Robert and Norvin, both of Oakland, Calif.; and two daughters, Mrs. Inelda Fasbourg, Hayward, Calif., and Mrs. Vivian Bosted, Alameda, Calif.

As a young man, his interests were in baseball; an arm injury kept him from becoming a pitcher in the professional leagues.

He spent 35 years as a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. After his retirement he resided in Oakland, Calif.

In November of 1963, he suffered his first stroke. After a few weeks he recovered enough to again walk, but his speech was impaired. In March of 1964 he suffered another stroke and was hospitalized in Berkeley. After his release he came to stay with his sister Deans Ratzlaff in Winton. Here the other members of the family assisted in caring for him.

He again recovered so that he could walk and talk a bit. He was responsive to the reading of the Bible. He loved to go places, especially church. On March 28, 1965 he suffered another stroke, after which he was taken to Blocs Hospital in Atwater, Calif., but was soon back again with his sister.

In another two seeks he had another attack, and gradually succumbed to his ailment. His mind remained clear; he conveyed faith in God and trust in his Saviour. We count it a privilege to have had a part in helping him in his faith during his illness.

He is survived by his two sons, two daughters, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jacob and Joseph of Winton, Calif., Nathan and Edward of Berkeley, Calif.; six sisters, Mrs. Laura Wilson, Atwater, Calif., Mrs. Lulu Loewen, Orinda, Calif., and Mrs. Suzie Ratzlaff, Mrs. Leah Heppner, Mrs. Dena Ratzlaff and Mrs. Minnie Koehn, all of Wniton, Calif. — The Family.
