Young Mother dies of Burns at Dodge City.

Dodge City, Ks., Feb. 15. — Mrs. Mary Koehn of Montezuma, 29 year old mother of eight children, died Thursday morning in St. Anthony's hospital from burns received in her home north of Montezuma Tuesday morning. Two thirds of the surface of Mrs. Koehn's body was burned, when she attempted to kindle a fire, apparently with gasoline in the belief she was using kerosene.

She had sent her oldest child, ten years old, for kerosene with which to start the fire. The explosion that occurred when she applied it to the kindling led to the belief gasoline had been obtained by mistake.

She is survived by her husband, Peter T. Koehnn, eight children, the youngest a baby four months old, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Unruh, also of Montezuma. She was born in Tampa, Kas., and had been a resident of Gray county since 1913.

The Dunsford funeral home will be in charge of the funeral services, for which arrangements are being held up pending word from relatives in other parts of the state.
