CARL J. KOEHN
Our devoted husband and father, Carl J. Koehn, was born on August 10, 1887, son of John H, and Mary Wedel Koehn, near Moundridge, Kansas.
He was baptized upon his confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour on June 17, 1904, and was received into the fellowship of the Emmanuel Mennonite church, later transferring his membership to the First Mennonite church, McPherson, Kansas, on October 12, 1947, in which he remained a faithful member until his death.
On September 14, 1910, he was united in marriage to Lena Wedel. This union was blessed with five sons and three daughters. Mr. Koehn departed this life on February 15, 1952, at 11:30 a.m., at the age of 64 years, six months, and five days.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Lena; three daughters, Verna (Mrs. Edward Dirks) of Burrton, Kansas, Mabel and Lila of the home; four sons, Valdo and Robert of the home, Lloyd of McPherson, and Nelson of Newton; two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, ten grandchildren, five brothers, five sisters, one uncle, other relatives and his many friends. One son, Paul Jay, preceded his father in death at infancy.
His life was marked with a cheerfulness enjoyed by many, and by a fatherly devotion which shall linger unendingly in the minds of those who were blessed by his love. — The Family.
