LIFELONG RESIDENT DIED AT HALSTEAD
Anna Koehn, daughter of Tobias B. and Susie Becker Koehn, was born on July 15, 1895, at Halstead, Kansas and passed away in the Halstead hospital on Sept. 16, 1953. She reached the age of 58 years, two months and one day. She lived in the Halstead community all her life.
At the age of twenty years, she accepted Christ as her Saviour and upon confession of her faith, she was baptized and received into the fellowship of the Church of God In Christ, Mennonite on March 29, 1916.
She was a faithful Christian, being deeply concerned for the welfare of the Kingdom and salvation of others. Three weeks ago, she took sick, knowing that her stay on earth would be for only a few more days. She fully resigned herself to the will of God, be it life or death, having a desire to be absent from the body and present with the Lord.
During her sickness, she expressed the great love and peace she had in her heart and that she was homesick for heaven where she would be free from all sin and sorrow that is in the world. She was taken to the hospital where after ten days, she peacefully passed away to her desired rest.
She leaves to mourn her passing her aged mother, Mrs. Susie Koehn; three sisters, Lean and Innez of the home and Mrs. Eva (Dan) Schmidt of Montezuma, Kansas; six brothers, Ben, John, Pete, Eli and Paul, all . of Halstead, and Wilbert of Harrison, Michigan; 11 nephews, 11 nieces, and many other relatives and friends. Her father, three brothers, one sister, one nephew and one niece preceded her in death.
